Mapo-gu Highlights: Han River, Fritz and Traditional Markets

Primarily associated with Hongdae, Hongik University and Haneul Park, the surrounding areas of Mapo-gu owe their reputation to the young artists, musicians and creatives that frequent establishments in the area. And though Hongdae may still be tourists’ first stop in Mapo, many of the smaller insider places have moved in all directions to the outskirts of Hongdae making areas like Gongdeok, Mangwon and Hapjeong the new “it” places.
