Dine, Drink and Shop in Myeongdong & Gwangjang Market

The area just north of Seoul Tower is notorious for its sprawling markets and lively shopping streets, but it’s also become one of the most frequented culinary destinations in the city thanks to the popularization of Gwangjang Market. Take to the market ahead of the lunchtime crowds to get your fill of classic Korean street food before wandering through the stalls, taking in the sights and smells along the way. The rest of the day will consist of bowls of traditional Pyongyang Naengmyeon, browsing K-dog clothing and K-beauty products and downing boxes of steaming dumplings before you retreat to your hotel room with a rare bottle of Makgeolli (unfiltered rice wine) to sip in bed.
